またまた角松つながりの一曲です。とても思い出深い一曲です。

当時、日曜朝の角松のＦＭライトアップタウンで紹介されました。その当時はそのFMライトアップタウンをテープに録音していたので、繰り返しこの曲を聴いてました。すぐにタワーレコードに探しに行ったのですが、ＬＰは売ってなかったです。まだＣＤとかでる前の話です。

このときのゲストが岡部まりで、ナイトフライトの紹介で、このアルバムを幻のアルバムが発掘されたので、と紹介していました。岡部まりには、アラウンド・ザ・ワールドというミントのカクテルを出してました。この間、思い出してとあるバーでこのカクテル頼んじゃいました。

その後、アマゾンでこのアルバムをＣＤで発見したときは、速攻で購入しました。ナイトフライトは、黒人と白人の２人組みと言ってましたが、お互いに歌を歌っていたのですね。

イントロの優しいリズムのギターから始まり、ナイトフライトの名のとおり、ジェットストリームのような空を浮遊するような音楽です。ヴォーカルがだんだんと盛り上がっていき、特に叫ぶような歌声の部分が好きです。

今辞書で調べたら、Niteflyteって載ってませんね。ナイトフライトだから、サン=テグジュペリの夜間飛行とかそんな意味だとずっと思っていたのですが。

でもまあいいです。意味はよくわかりませんが、ジェットストリームに歌詞をつけたような音楽、やっぱり良いっすね。
